Q: How secure is the Everything Locks restricted locking solution?
A: We take our restricted keying solution very seriously. While our vendor doesn't require us, we take extra security measures to ensure our restricted solution stays that way. For example, we require authorization documentation before order fulfillment and cross-reference this documentation when additional orders are placed.
Q: How many locksmiths, who are dealers for General Lock, are in possession of your keyway design?
A: General Lock's dealer program randomly assigns a restricted keyway to each business based on distance. When handling out-of-area customers, we can't know for sure the customer's local locksmiths that are in possession of the same keyway. Please keep in mind that the keyway is not disclosed to our customers and is not identified on the key(s) and cylinder(s) we sell. This information is proprietary information between the dealer and vendor. Worst case scenario, if a customer's local locksmith is a dealer for the same keyway, they are NOT authorized to service the system Everything Locks sells you. This is a breach of their contract and their supply line is pulled and legal action can be taken against them.
Q: What is stopping Everything Locks from servicing the same restricted locking solution that I have currently?
A: If you or your company is in possession of the same restricted locking solution (same keyway design, cylinders, etc) and we did not sell you the system, we are NOT authorized to service it. As mentioned in the previous answer, if our company breaches our vendor's contract, our supply line is pulled and legal action can be taken against us.
Q: Why can't I request custom key cuts and/or cylinder pinning patterns? Why can't I request blank keys or un-pinned cylinders?
A: Believe it or not, there are individuals out there who take the time to find loopholes. For example, while it's not common, some individuals will want to purchase custom cut keys and custom cylinder pinning to get around having to work with the dealer who sold them the system. A common reason could be that it's cheaper. Another reason could be that the business that sold them the system is no longer in business.
Q: What happens if Everything Locks folds or is no longer in business? How do I get my system serviced?
A: With our exceptional customer service, we think about our customers. One of our main priorities is making sure our customers are taken care of in the event of a business catastrophe and other unforeseen circumstances that disallows us to continue business. In this case, we have taken measures to ensure that, if this worry comes to reality, we have precautions already set for implementation. This way, the Everything Locks business can either be sold (or passed down to the owner's beneficiary) or slowly dissolve. This includes working with our distributors to transfer Everything Locks' restricted system to another company that services the same system, keeping all security measures in-tact.
Q: Do you have any name-brand restricted systems available?
A: Absolutely! Everything Locks has relationships with many suppliers to configure a name-brand system at any time. Please keep in mind that, although Everything Locks manages their own restricted system policies, that different manufacturers have different requirements (i.e., a buy-in fee, a minimum purchase required to maintain the system, etc.). As of 03/24/2026, we are currently in the process of setting up a restricted ASSA keyway. Please contact us for more information! We are extremely excited!
